The Links O' Tryon first opened for play in 1987. This Tom Jackson mountain masterpiece was voted the "#1 semi-private golf course" by Golfweek Magazine. It features vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains and a Scottish-style layout incorporating rolling hills, water, and steep drops.

The Links O' Tryon completed a reconstruction project in 1998, that included lengthening the course. The course was built on gently rolling hills and features pure white sand bunkers. Imported field stone walls and bridges provide this course with a traditional Scottish look

Tom Jackson, created an 18-hole masterful layout full of natural obstacles designed to test the strategies and shot-making skills of every golfer. Yet, it is also a design that honors the pure enjoyment of the game, a 7,150 yard, par 72 championship course featuring four sets of tees for every level of play.

The signature hole is #13, a 326-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot up a dogleg left fairway, then an approach shot over a lake to a small green. Not only is this hole the most scenic, but it is also the most difficult on the course.
